FabFitFun Summer 2021

Was The FabFitFun Summer 2021 Box Worth It?

Another month, another subscription box, am I right? This time, we’re talking about the FabFitFun Summer 2021 box.

Admittedly, I was quite hesitant on keeping my subscription for this box this season, because when I saw the customization options, I was pretty disappointed. Which, it seemed like I wasn’t alone in this opinion, as many people had voiced their opinions on social media showing their displeasure.

By the looks of the customization options, the FabFitFun Summer 2021 box looked like it was going to contain a lot of repeat items from last year. Which, if they were beauty products, I think people would have been more understanding as beauty products run out. Instead, the repeat products were things like wine coolers or beach towels, which most people would only want one of.

However, FabFitFun spoke out to say that the only people who would receive the repeat items would be those who specifically asked for those items through customization. That way those who may have wanted these items last year, but may not have gotten them, would have the opportunity to get them this year. Which actually isn’t too bad of an idea.

So, I decided to see it through.

Fast forward to this past week and I received my box! So, I unboxed it and took a look at what was inside. If you want to see a full unboxing, check out my YouTube video below:

As I mentioned in the video, I thought it was strange that the catalog included in this season’s box didn’t have the product values listed. Which, personally speaking, I thought was a bit disappointing because I like to read it all off and add up everything I received so that I can tell if the box was worth it or not.

So, I decided to do some digging myself and get the value of each product. Which turned out to be as follows:

Blush Silicone Ice Cube Tray: $10.89

Barefoot Scientist Pedicure File: $15.00

Rae Dunn Salsa & Guac Bowl Set: $40.00

Virginia Wolf Tropical Multi Wear Wrap: $60.00

Ciate London Watermelon Setting Spray: $22.00

Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask: $25.00

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo: $26.00

MineTan Body Skin Recovery After Sun Gel: $32.95

All together, the value of this particular FabFitFun Summer 2021 box came out to $231.84. Depending on the customizations, the total value of the box can vary.

As far as my final thoughts, $231.84 obviously makes the $50 you pay for the box worth your money, if you like the items you received. Typically, however, the boxes I’ve received in the past have had a value of up to $500, so this one seemed more on the lower end. But nonetheless, you’re getting well worth what you paid.

What’s interesting is that the past few boxes have begun to take the focus off of beauty products, and adding a lot of other products inside. For example, the Rae Dunn set or the ice cube tray. Which I actually like to see. I think this box was a good balance of both beauty and lifestyle products!

I’m really interested to see what the fall box will contain, and if it stays on trend with this balance of beauty and lifestyle, or if it’ll go back to being a beauty-dominated box. I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!
