New Makeup Launches

Testing & Reviewing Some New Makeup Launches | January 2021

New Makeup Launches

Hi guys! Hope you are all having a great week. I’m excited to share today’s post and video, because it is the first time I’ve done a post like this (and hopefully not the last), today I am testing out and sharing my review of some new makeup launches!

Over the past few weeks I’ve received some products from a few brands of some of their new launches, some of which the internet is raving about, and I had to try them out for myself and see if they live up to the hype!

So today I am sharing some new launches from NYX, Elf Cosmetics, Good Molecules and Violet Voss!

Check out the video below to see them tested out!

Yerba Mate Wake Up Eye Gel from Good Molecules

The first product I tested out was the Yerba Mate Wake Up Eye Gel from Good Molecules. This product claims to help revitalize tired, puffy eyes – it is a vegan product and is made with a number of ingredients including yerba mate, hyaluronic acid, caffeine and more. One thing I really love about Good Molecules is that they are totally transparent with the ingredients that they include in their products.

Though it takes some time to see results from skincare products, I will say that so far I am liking it! I’ve seen a little bit of improvement in the dark circles under my eyes. I have very sensitive skin, and the eye gel hasn’t caused any irritation to my skin, which is always a plus. Additionally, it seems as though makeup blended on top perfectly!

Marshmellow Primer from NYX

Next thing I tried was the NYX Marshmellow Primer. The last marshmallow product I tried was a mask from Bliss, and I absolutely loved it – so I had high hopes for this primer. The texture was totally similar to the Bliss face mask, which was the first good sign.

Upon application, I got a bit nervous as the primer looked a bit white once applied, but after a little blending it worked perfectly! My foundation and concealer blended perfectly on top of it, and my makeup stayed in tact all day with no patchy spots – and I didn’t even look greasy!

Camo CC Cream from Elf Cosmetics

Following the primer, I used the new Elf Camo CC Cream. When it comes to foundation, I typically use something heavy, and with a lot of coverage. So, if I’m being honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a CC Cream, and admittedly, I didn’t have high hopes.

But I will also be the first to tell you that I was way too quick to judge, as this CC cream was AMAZING. Not only is it full of collagen, peptides and niacinamide, but it is also a full coverage cream. I had a patch of breakouts and redness on my face that this cream totally covered, you truly couldn’t even tell it was there!

Additionally, though the cream was full coverage, it still left my face with a natural finish, rather than looking cakey, and it lasted all day! Typically when I wear foundation on top of breakouts, the breakouts are still there the next day, and sometimes they look even worse. However, in this case, the patch of redness and breakouts on my face looked significantly smaller the next day, which I believe can be contributed to the skincare benefits from this cc cream!

Brow Glue Instant Brow Styler & Lift and Snatch! Brow Tint Pen from NYX

The next of the new makeup launches that I tried were some brow products from NYX. First, we had the Brow Glue Instant Brow Styler, and then there was the Lift & Snatch! Brow Tint Pen.

Let me preface this with the fact that if it has to do with my brows, I am a TOTAL amateur. I’ve been trying to grow my eyebrows out so that I could eventually style them the way I want to, but that is a PROCESS.

However, for a total beginner, I liked these products! The brow glue had a tiny spoolie that made application and styling super easy, and the glue wasn’t too heavy or overly sticky. And as far as the brow tint pen goes, the pen tip was super flexible, making for the application to be very fluid and easy! The fine point also made for a nice natural look!

Olive You Forever Eyeshadow Palette from Violet Voss

Once my brows were done, I tried out the Violet Voss Olive You Forever palette. I received this palette in my January 2021 Boxycharm box, and according to the product card, this palette was a new launch – so, I decided to include it in my review of new makeup launches! This palette is full of beautiful shades, both shimmers and mattes from tans and browns to greens and golds.

I had never tried a Violet Voss product before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect but this palette was awesome! The shades were very pigmented and lasted all day. They blended very nicely, and they make for a really nice, natural look.

Shine Loud High Shine Lip Color from NYX

And lastly, of the new makeup launches, I tried the TikTok crazed Shine Loud High Shine Lip Color from NYX. This lip color was totally raved about by tiktokkers and beauty bloggers for being long lasting, no transfer and super pigmented.

Admittedly, I couldn’t wait until filming this video to try it out, so this is actually the second time I am using it. But let me tell you, it is totally worth the hype! The variety of colors available are amazing, there is truly a color for every taste – from nudes to bold colors, they really have it all.

The lip color is matte, but if you don’t like a matte lip, no worries, because you can just turn the tube around to add a little gloss! As far as the wear – it truly did last forever. Even after I washed my makeup off for the day, I could still see the lip color on my lips, it was insane.

Additionally, it did not dry out my lips, which is a huge plus. Also worth it to mention that it is a vegan product for those interested!

All in all, these new makeup launches where really great, and I am so happy and grateful to be able to share them with you all! Are there any upcoming launches you are particularly excited about? If so, let me know!
