It sounds like we have a performer for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show – Rihanna!
Rihanna, along with Roc Nation and the NFL, seemingly confirmed the news on social media Sunday afternoon.
The confirmation came just hours after TMZ reported that Roc Nation and the NFL had been in discussions about Rihanna performing for this year’s big event.
Rihanna, who will surely be joined by other performers who have yet to be announced, will take the stage for the halftime show, newly sponsored by Apple Music, who is taking over for longtime sponsor Pepsi.
The news of Rihanna’s performance comes just days after rumors were circulating that Taylor Swift would be the headliner. However, that was quickly debunked.
According to multiple outlets, though the NFL had asked Taylor Swift a number of months ago to perform, she declined saying that while she would love to perform for the NFL, she wants to wait until her six albums have been rerecorded.
Those who are excited to see Rihanna’s performance at the Super Bowl can do so Sunday, February 12th on FOX.
