One Happy Island: Honeymooning in Aruba
Leading up to our wedding and honeymoon, so many people told us to enjoy every minute of it because it goes by fast and let me tell you… those people were completely right!
I’m writing this as we sit on the plane ride home, and it feels like we haven’t even left! With that being said, the whole trip, wedding and honeymoon experience was nothing short of amazing!
We honeymooned in Aruba, which if you haven’t been it is truly beautiful. Who doesn’t love white sand beaches and crystal clear blue water?
We stayed at the Hilton Aruba resort in the Palm Beach area. The resort is right off the beach, and features two pools, a casino, and a handful of bars and restaurants.
We spent most of our days hanging out under a palapa, also known as a cabana, on the beach, where we drank Aruba Ariba drinks (if you ever visit Aruba those drinks are a must) and ate lunch.
After the beach, we spent some time by the pool before cleaning up and heading to dinner.
The Palm Beach area is full of restaurants and shops, so the options for dinner were truly endless.
Our favorite dinner spot of the week was Lola, a Taqueria and bar. This is where AJ found a new love for Pica Di Papaya, which naturally he purchased a bottle of which is coming home with us.
We ended each night with a trip to the casino, and then sat by the bar, where we made friends with a bartender named Ronaldo, who was so friendly and greeted us each night, he even remembered our drink orders… does that make us regulars? 😉
All in all, we had an absolutely amazing trip and are so grateful we were able to make the trip!
