If you find going to the nail salon more of a chore than a way to treat yourself, you’re not alone. Luckily, there is a way to get your nails looking on point this summer, without spending hours in a salon.
Now, let me preface this post with the fact that I am a total amateur at painting nails, I’d probably be better off allowing a first grader to paint my nails than myself, but a girl’s gotta make due with what she has sometimes, and sometimes there’s no one around to take over the task of doing my nails.
So, with that, I was recently contacted by a nail brand called Madam Glam, who asked me if I wanted to give some gel polishes a try, and seeing as my sad looking nails were in need of some color, I agreed. To give you a bit of background, Madam Glam is a start-up beauty brand that was started back in 2014 in New York. Their mission is to offer salon-quality, carefully sourced nail and gel polishes.
Their collection ranges to over 1,800 gels and more than 800 shades. Seriously, there’s a shade for every type of occasion, personality, aesthetic, vibe, time of year, taste, mood, etc. You want it? Madam Glam has it.
Their polishes are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, palm oil-free, 21-free and Hema-free.
Being as it is summer time, and summer is time for bright colors – I opted to try out some shades from their Neon Collection. And, let me tell you, all of my summertime neon dreams were served with this polish.
First things first, to make your nails pop to the best of their ability, it’s good to go through the whole Madam Glam process. So, the first thing you want to do is apply the clear base coat. Once the base coat is dry, you apply the polish itself, and then after that is dry, apply the clear top coat.
If there is one thing that absolutely grinds my gears when it comes to nail polish, it’s having to apply 5 coats of a polish to get even the slightest bit of pigment. So, I’m sure you can only imagine my (pleasant) surprise when I was able to get away with just one coat of this polish!
The consistency of this polish didn’t seem to be like normal polishes that are water and slide all over. Instead, this polish is very thick and tends to stick in place upon application. (I’m sure the base coat helped with that!)
The polish that I tried is called “Kiss On The Cheek” and it’s a beautiful neon orange. Admittedly, upon first glance at the bottle I thought to myself that it looked more like a pastel than a neon, but once I applied the polish I could see where it got it’s neon label from!
Aside from polishes, Madam Glam offers tons of other tools and accessories for your nails. Including different buffers and files, UV lights to help dry your nails (seriously, a total lifesaver for someone as impatient and clumsy as me), different brushes to help you create nail art and more.
Additionally, if you are someone who purchases nail polish often, or perhaps you own a salon and are looking to try out some new polishes, Madam Glam has a VIP Program that allows you to get 50% off for life as a member. Definitely worth checking out!
Overall, I was super pleased and impressed with how my nails turned out, and despite me being a total mess of a person, I didn’t botch them!
