Multiple outlets are reporting that Kim Kardashian has officially filed for divorce from Kanye West after being married for almost seven years.
According to TMZ, Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their four children, which Kanye agrees with. They additionally report that the pair are committed to co-parenting their children.
The divorce documents were filed by attorney Laura Wasser, who Kim has had on retainer since last summer. According to TMZ, the pair are already far along in reaching a property settlement agreement.
Us Weekly revealed that the couple had a big fight back in December, and things really hadn’t healed since then.
Things between the couple have seemed rocky over the past year or so, with Kanye struggling with mental health issues – in which he had taken to Twitter to speak on issues which seemed private, as well as took some personal shots at members of the Kardashian/Jenner family. Additionally, he launched a presidential campaign in 2020.
The couple have been living separately for months, with Kim staying at their California home with the kids, close by to her family, and Kanye spending most of his time at his ranch in Wyoming.
Kim and Kanye began dating shortly after Kim split with her ex-husband Kris Humphries, back in 2011. They got married in Italy back in May of 2014.
They share four children together – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
