I decided to do something different this week, and mesh a little bit more of my personal life into my blog.
For those who don’t know me, I work as a producer in broadcast news. Specifically I work in digital in broadcast news. This means I do many different things, I write articles for the station’s website, I help come up with a social media strategy and carry it out, I help maintain a social media schedule, I create content for social media, among other things.
Throughout my four years so far in television, I’ve worked two elections, four Thanksgiving Day Parades, I’ve covered a number of different events on digital including some hurricanes, a flower show, an auto show, and a women’s convention among other things, I’ve produced two on air commercials and more. It’s safe to say that each day is different and you really never know what to expect! (Especially this year!)
In any case, I often am asked how I got to where I am today and how to get a job in television, or any industry of a creative nature.
Truth is, there’s really no one correct way to do it. However, there are a number of things you can do to increase your chances of being recognized for your work!
Check out my YouTube video below to hear a few tips for how to get a job in television, or any creative industry for that matter!
