There’s a lot that goes into keeping a relationship alive and healthy — one of which being time spent together. Life can be hectic and busy, so your time spent with your significant other should be valued. That is why it is so important to put aside some time to unplug from all the distractions and spend some time together and simply enjoy each other’s company.
For my fiancé and I, we recently bought our first house back in April, and between paying for house things and preparing for our wedding, it’s not necessarily in the budget to be able to go out and spend all kinds of money on date night. Luckily enough, Date Night In Boxes has given us the opportunity to be able to spend time together and unplug from everything, all while keeping on a budget and not even having to leave the comfort of our home!
This month’s box theme was “Fall In Love” and it tied into the season perfectly! I am a big lover of fall, the pumpkin picking, the leaves changing, even just the simple smell of a fall candle — and let me tell you, the second we opened the box, we were met with some great smells of fall!
The Fall In Love box gave us some great activities to take part in, including candle making, which is something I’ve always wanted to do but never thought was possible to do right in the comfort of our home!
Once the candle was done and our house was filled with the aroma of fall, we were able to take part in the Tree Of Life activity, which allowed for us to decorate a wood circle however we wanted with a marker and stamp. I always love the Date Night In activities because they really allow you to be creative, but this one in particular really appealed to me because we are in the midst of building our lives together and are on this amazing journey together — so to be able to map out our journey right in front of us was really awesome.
When all was said and done, we were able to enjoy a game of Bunco that was included in the box and just overall enjoy each other’s company as we always do!
For us, the Date Night In Boxes really mean a lot. We both work jobs with schedules that are not like the typical 9-5, and our schedules don’t normally match up. So our time together is limited, but very important to us. The Date Night In Boxes allow us to try new things, and learn so much about each other.
