If you’re anything like me, you find that it is much easier to be active in the warm weather months. There’s nothing quite like going for a run on the beach as they sun’s coming up, or taking a post-dinner walk around the neighborhood as they sun’s going down.

For me, personally, when that cold weather rolls around I like to stay curled up on my couch wrapped in a blanket, and I do not like to move! This winter I am vowing to myself to stay active and get myself ready for my wedding in the spring!

Many people may not realize it, but there truly are plenty of ways to stay active in the winter without having to be out in the cold, and there are so many ways to have fun while doing it!

Here are just a few of the great things you can try this winter to keep your heartbeat bumping and yourself moving:

Sign Up For A Gym Membership

This one may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised by how many people don’t take advantage of the many gyms there are all over the place! A lot of people let the idea of being judged or watched while working out hold them back from going to the gym, but I can assure you that this is definitely not the case! I was once afraid of the same thing, but the more that I was going I realized that, quite frankly, no one there really cares or pays attention to anything you’re doing because they are busy doing their own thing! Depending on the gym you go to, many gyms offer great classes or even personal trainers that will dedicate their time to helping you find the best workout regimen for you. However, even with all of these great things, the best part about the gym in my opinion is that you can do everything at your own pace!

Take A Yoga Class

If you’re looking for something a little less intense than lifting weights or running on the treadmill, try a yoga class! Yoga is a great way to relieve stress and clear your mind all while getting a great workout in. Yoga classes can be found all over, check which classes your gym offers, or look up yoga studios that may be close to your house — you’d be surprised how many you find! There’s also different types of yoga classes that different studios offer, so be sure to do your research before signing up for a class!

Check Out Workout Videos and Apps

We are living in an age of technology, so use that technology to your advantage and to stay active! Next time you find yourself cooped up in your house playing on your phone, open up the app store and download some exercise apps! You can even check the On Demand feature on your television, you never know what you may find. I’ve tried tons of workout apps and let me tell you, I definitely get a good sweat in while using them!

Try Out A Dance Class

Here is one that you may not have thought of before — try out a dance class! Dance is such a great form of art, that keeps you on your feet and moving! There are so many different fun and exciting forms of dance that you can try out, and USA Ballroomin Red Bank, New Jersey offers tons of them, including Salsa, Latin, Tango, Rumba, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Waltz, Hustle, Samba and many other dance styles, “Our dance studio offers instruction on all types of dance. We will teach you how to find the beat, how to move along with the rhythm, and how to communicate with your partner.” USA Ballroom offers group classes, private lessons and even socials where you can show off all the great moves you learned. To make a great thing even better, the ballroom offers your first dance lesson for free, all you have to do is contact them for more information. When it comes down to it, not only will dancing keep you active while having fun, but it will give you tons of great new moves to show off at the next wedding or party you go to!
