Everybody loves to save money, am I right? There is no better feeling leaving a store than knowing that you were able to save yourself a couple (or maybe a lot) of bucks, and now that money can go towards something else!
I have always been one to try and save money where I can, whether it be with coupons, sales, whatever it may be, I find great satisfaction in getting a good deal.
I find that I am shopping online more often than not these days because of the great deals that I can get. Discounts, gifts with purchases, free shipping, it all adds up and not to mention is much more satisfying when you can do it all from the comfort of your couch!
With that being said, I wanted to share with you my favorite apps that help me save money when I am shopping. Whether it saves me money shopping online, or in store, I find each of these apps of great use, and I hope you do too!
1. Target Cartwheel
I’ve never met a person who didn’t like Target! So what could make Target even better? Saving money while buying all your favorite things at Target! Target offers a feature called “Cartwheel” that allows you to go through and pick items that you think you will pick up on your Target trip and help you save a few bucks. The Target Cartwheel App used to be a standalone app. However, now it is built right into the Target app! All you have to do is open the app, click “Cartwheel Offers”, explore the different categories and choose what deals you would like to add to your list. Then, you go and do your shopping, and all you have to do is show the cashier the barcode featured within the app. The cashier will scan the barcode, and like magic you’ve saved yourself a few dollars!
While it may not seem like you save a lot of money on each deal, if you plan on having a big shopping trip those deals add up and you could potentially save a decent amount of money!
2. RetailMeNot
Whether you are shopping online on your computer, on your phone, or in store, I have to recommend checking out the RetailMeNot app! The app pulls together a number of coupon codes and sales from a large list of stores. All you have to do is check the app before you check out and see if you can find any codes that may help you save some money!
However, I must forewarn you, not all retailers will accept RetailMeNot coupons and you may sometimes find that coupon codes may not work online or may be expired. But hey, it is always worth a shot!
3. ShopRite
I know this may not be the most glamorous of shopping apps, but I mean we all have to eat! It is easy to rack up a pretty hefty bill while grocery shopping without even realizing it, so it is nice to know you have some money saving deals right in the palm of your hand!
While ShopRite does an excellent job of sending out sale papers each week, which have coupons you can clip within them, it is easy to forget about them or leave the coupons at home by accident. With this app you can have the coupons on you at all times!
Other features the app offers are product recommendations, you can keep track of past purchases, check out weekly promotions and a feature called Downtime Dollars which allows you to watch short videos or participate in marketing surveys to earn a few bucks that you can use on your next purchase.
However, you should know, that you need a ShopRite Price Plus Account to access a lot of the features on the app, but it is free to sign up!
4. Walmart
Here is another one that I know may not be very glamorous, but it can definitely help out with your grocery shopping and other things you may need from Walmart!
The Walmart app can help you keep track of promotions going on within the store, which is always a plus, you can keep track of prescriptions you may have at the in store pharmacy, and see new arrivals, but I think the best feature of the app is that it allows you to scan your receipt into the app, and then it takes that receipt and searches prices at surrounding area competitor stores to see if any of the other stores has a better deal than you paid for. If they do, then Walmart will credit you the difference. Once you’ve garnered enough money, you can go into the store during your next visit and transfer those credits to a Walmart gift card which you can use on your next shopping trip.
5. Honey
This last one has done wonders for me. Honey is a plug in you can add right to your web browser, and then it does all the work for you! Whenever you shop online and you head to checkout, Honey will display a pop up in your browser and tell you how many deals and coupon codes they found online for where you are shopping. All you have to do is click the “check coupon codes” button and it will go through all of the codes it has found, and will automatically apply them to your purchase to see what works! It has saved me a ton of money since I started using it!
Unfortunately, however, the app is only available to use within a internet browser, there is no phone apps.
I hope these apps can help you save just as much money as they have me! What are your favorite money saving apps? Feel free to share!
