6 Things To Do With Your Holiday Break

The countdown is on – 2023 is just a few weeks away and right now, many of us are at the start of our holiday break, or coming up on it very soon. What to do with all that time? No matter what you decide to do, you should be intentional, devise a plan, and make sure that you are making the most of your time. To do this, figure out what you need and what you want. Then, make a list and start checking it off! Not sure what to do? Here are a few ideas!

Learn something new

You are never too old to learn something new. I don’t think the phrase “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” is accurate because I think that no matter how old you are, you CAN learn something new that will help you learn, grow, and succeed in life. If there is something that you have been wanting to learn, go for it! It might take longer than your break, but using your break as a way to get started is a great place to begin. For example, if you want to learn how to sew, you can take a sewing class during your break and then still have time to practice, as well. While you probably won’t know it all after that one class, you are definitely on the right track and with a little practice (and maybe more classes), you can learn how to sew large projects in no time.

Connect with your friends

One thing that I struggle with is seeing all of my friends on a regular basis. No matter if you have a smaller friend group or a larger friend group, it can be challenging to see all of your friends on a regular basis, especially if you have friends that live all over the place. With that being said, the holidays are the perfect time to meet up with a few people, in order to reconnect and spend quality time with the people who bring you joy! This does not just stop at your friend group, however. You can also spend more time with family members, as well, since you have more free time on your hands.

Sleep in, if possible

If you work a 9-5, have kids, or have other responsibilities, you are probably waking up on the early side 99% of the time. Right now is your time to catch up on sleep and relaxation. Take a morning, or a few mornings, to sleep in as late as you want or need to. If you cannot sleep in, try staying in bed and resting! Read a book, listen to some calming music and meditate, or do some light stretching while laying down. This can benefit you so much, even if you don’t think you need it!

Do something for yourself

In addition to sleeping in, do more for yourself while you have the chance. Get a massage, go to a nail salon and have your nails done, focus on working on more, read a book to have some downtime (without the screens!), or take a bubble bath with a glass of tea or wine. Whatever you need or want to do in order to take care of yourself, go for it! This might look like a shopping spree for some, while others may choose to crash on the couch watching rom-coms!

Take a trip

With more free time, you might have the opportunity to take a trip – even if it is just a smaller staycation. If you need a vacation rental, check out Daniels Realty. They have vacation rentals in North Wildwood NJ, which would honestly be such a great staycation! You could do a solo trip, a romantic trip, a trip with your best friend, or a huge family vacation. Either way, focus on having fun and making amazing memories for years to come!

Set the stage for a great year

Last but not least, set the stage for a great year. Figure out what you need to do in order to reach your goals and have a great year in 2023. Only you know what you need, so figure it out, then set the stage, and make it happen!
