Happy (almost) Valentine’s Day! With the holiday of love upon us, it’s a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your loved one. Whether than be your significant other or spouse, or a group of friends – after all, we love our friends, right?

If you’re planning on curling up on the couch this weekend to watch some Valentine’s Day movies, there’s tons to choose from that are perfect for the holiday!

Seriously, when you think about it, Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to watch the serious love stories, and it’s also the perfect time to pop on a classic rom-com.

So, whatever genre you like – there are a bunch of titles that’ll fit your liking!

Valentine’s Day

This one, of course, was a given. Which is why we’re starting off with it! Valentine’s Day is full of a-list celebrities – including Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Jessica Alba, Bradley Cooper and many, many more. This movie features a number of interconnected storylines that showcase the highs and lows of love, all over the course of a single day.

 

The Notebook

Another classic perfect for your Valentine’s Day viewing is The Notebook. This Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams film is perfect for any hopeless romantic. The Notebook tells the story of Noah and Allie, who fall in love, but Allie’s parents don’t approve. Noah is soon sent off to fight in World War II, during which Allie gets engaged to another man, but Noah’s return seems to throw a wrench in that plan.

 

Crazy, Stupid, Love

Crazy, Stupid, Love is another star-studded movie that is both equally charming and funny. The movie tells the story of Steve Carrell’s character, Cal, who finds himself divorced and newly single over the age of 40. That’s when he meets Ryan Gosling’s character, Jacob, who teaches Cal how to be a hit with the ladies and get back out in the dating world.

 

Pretty Woman

If you’re looking to watch a good throwback, Pretty Woman is a good choice! In this twist on a fairytale, an unlikely couple fall in love after spending a few days together during a business arrangement. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere turned this movie into such a hit, it’s a Broadway musical now!

 

Crazy Rich Asians

If you’re looking for a good laugh, Crazy Rich Asians is a great pick! Constance Wu and Henry Golding are phenomenal in this film that tells the story of Rachel and Nick. Rachel accompanies Nick back home for a family wedding, upon arrival Rachel discovers that Nick is from an (extremely) wealthy family. During their time in Singapore, Rachel must deal with this newfound discovery of her boyfriend’s wealth, as well as his disapproving mother.

 

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

If you’re in the mood for a good marathon, you’ve got to watch the To All The Boy’s I’ve Loved Before movies. This trilogy begins when Lana Condor’s Lara Jean writes secret letters to her five crushes. Unbeknownst to her, the letters end up being sent out, and find the hands of those she writes about in the letters. Which leads to a run in with Noah Centineo’s Peter Kavinsky.

 

Someone Great

If you’re looking for the perfect movie to watch with your girls, check out Someone Great. This Netflix film, starring Gina Rodriguez, DeWanda Wise and Brittany Snow, tells the story of Jenny, who was dumped by her longtime boyfriend just before she gets ready to move from New York to San Francisco.  So, she calls on her two best friends for one more crazy adventure before her big move.

 

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

If you’re looking for a movie that doesn’t exactly fit the bill of your average rom-com, you’ll want to check out Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The movie tells the story of Joel and Clementine, whom of which undergo a procedure after a painful breakup that erases all memory of their relationship. While this movie isn’t all rainbows and butterflies, it is still a beautifully made film.

 

Sylvie’s Love

If you’re in the mood for true romance, you’ve got to check out Sylvie’s Love. Starring Tessa Thompson and Nnamdi Asomugha, this beautiful film tells the story of a summer romance that just happened at the wrong time. When the pair reconnect years down the road, they realize that their feelings for each other have not faded. Seriously, even just the trailer will have you in your feels!

 

Love Actually

And, of course, it is only right that we wrap up this list with Love Actually. This classic rom-com is similar to that of Valentine’s Day and He’s Just Not That Into You, as it features nine intertwined stories that all revolve around that one emotion that can be great, but also get us into trouble: love.

 

So, there you have it! Of course this is just a very small sampling of the countless movies out there that can be considered the perfect Valentine’s Day movies.
