10 At Home Date Ideas To Enjoy With Your Partner

at home date ideas

It is February and love is in the air! But, unfortunately, so is COVID. Therefore, it’s no surprise that a lot of people are opting for at home date ideas this Valentine’s Day, and beyond for that matter.

I know it’s a total bummer to not be able to have your normal Valentine’s Day, but has anything really been normal this past year?

Luckily, there are still so many different things you can do at home to be able to enjoy a date night with your significant other.

That is why today I am sharing with you some at home date ideas!

Order From Your Favorite Restaurant

Yes, yes, I know. This one is a total given, but I had to include it! Typically, my husband and I make sure to get dinner every year at our favorite restaurant. It is where we had dinner early on in our relationship, and we loved it so much we made a tradition out of it. We even had our wedding rehearsal dinner there!

I made sure to include it, because many restaurants, especially small family-owned restaurants, are suffering tremendously right now due to the COVID restrictions. So, it is so important for us to be able to support them in any way that we can!

Most restaurants are offering takeout or delivery to be able to still serve their customers. So, I encourage you to support those local businesses and order yourself and your significant other some dinner! You can even turn your kitchen table into a restaurant scene. Light some candles, put on some music, and have a nice dinner with your loved one.

Have A Movie Marathon

Who doesn’t love a good movie or two (or three or seven)? Nowadays, I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t have some sort of streaming service in their home. Whether it be Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, HBO Max, Disney Plus, the list goes on. I can guarantee you that every single one of these services has plenty of romance movies or romcoms for you and your significant other to enjoy! Personally, I love a movie that I can get a good laugh out of, so I tend to opt for comedies.

And don’t forget, no movie marathon is complete without snacks! So, grab some popcorn and candy, or pop some baked goods in the oven and get ready to watch some flix!

Have A Game Night

I don’t know about anyone else, but I absolutely love playing games. Whether they be board games or video games, it relaxes me and it’s fun! Not to mention, it’s totally an option for your at home Valentine’s Day this year. You’d be surprised how much fun you can have playing a multiplayer video game. My husband and I spent our new year’s eve playing a golf video game that we found on our Playstation and had the time of our life – doesn’t hurt that we’re also very competitive when it comes to playing games!

Amazon has TONS of board game options if you’re looking to go the traditional route, or if you’re looking for some video games, most consoles have built in stores that are constantly having sales that you can find a fun multiplayer game on. For us, I subscribe to Playstation Now, which is basically like Netflix for games, and there’s tons of options on there!

Have A Baking or Cooking Night

If you and your significant other are ones who enjoy spending time in the kitchen, why not have a baking or cooking night. You can even put a spin on it and make it a theme night – like finger foods, pizza night, Italian night, etc. You’d be surprised how much you can have fun and really bond with your loved one while cooking together. After all, it takes a little teamwork to cook together, am I right?

Additionally, you can check out different machines to help you make fun things, like a snow cone maker or cake pop maker, or something of the sorts to make cooking fun!

Have Your Own Wine Tasting

Do you enjoy wine? How about some cheese to go with it? Throw your own wine tasting night! Head to your local state store, grab some bottles of wine you’ve never tried before, and make a night of testing them all out! You can grab some glasses, maybe make your own tasting card and grab some snacks like cheese and crackers, and go to town!

You can even dress up for the occasion – it’ll almost be like you’re right at the vineyard!

Have A Craft Night

If you have an artistic bone in your body and want to express your creativity, why not have a craft night! And I don’t exactly mean grab some crayons and scissors, unless you enjoy that, then all means. But why not grab a to-go kit from your favorite pottery place or have a paint night! Theres actually tons of different ways you are your other half can get crafty. Plus, it’ll leave you with something to remember the night by!

Have A Trivia Night

I feel like trivia is so underrated. I love trivia games of any kind! There’s actually tons of trivia games out there to play – check your smart tv for game apps, or even YouTube for different trivia videos. I know there are tons of music trivia videos out there! And if none of these sound appealing to you, make up your own trivia game with your significant other and test them to see how well they know you and vice versa! You may even end up learning a thing or two about your other half that you never knew!

Relax And Have A Spa Night

We could all use a little rest and relaxation after the holidays, and after the past year for that matter. So, a spa night may not be a bad idea! There are tons of different ways to unwind during a spa night. Set the mood by lighting some candles or maybe turning on an oil diffuser. Then maybe grab some face masks for you and your partner, soak your feet, maybe give yourselves a pedicure – the options really are endless!

You can even grab a cup of tea to help you relax a bit!

Organize The House Together

Most people reading this probably think I’m out of my mind, but honestly, this may be my favorite of the at home date ideas and, believe it or not, this can actually be really enjoyable! Sure, the end result is probably more enjoyable than the process, but still! Organizing your house can feel like such a weight lifted off your shoulders. It is so nice to know where everything is, for everything to be orderly and neat, and truthfully, it can make your house seem so much cleaner and sometimes even bigger than when you started.

Additionally, you never know what things you may come across while organizing. Sometimes you may find long lost items or even items you totally didn’t even realize you owned!

Reminisce Over Old Photos

It’s nice to take a walk down memory lane sometimes. So why not pull out that old box of photos and albums and think about all the time you’ve spent together and how far you have come from first meeting. For us personally, we began dating while we were in college, my husband was delivering pizzas and I was working in a store at the mall – fast forward to now and we are married, have our own home, have careers and are doing quite well! Sometimes taking a look at old photos can help you remember all you have been through and help you to not take things for granted!

And if you want to take it a step further and look towards the future, make a bucket list for all the things the two of you want to do in the future and things you’d like to accomplish – both short-term and long-term.

So, there you have it, there are 10 at home date ideas to hopefully help you enjoy some time with your significant other! Are there any at home date ideas that you enjoy? Please share them in the comments!
